Henrique Moura’s PMP (r) study guide is simply known as the PMP Exam Complete Book. It is a complete guide for preparing for the exam.
It begins with a context and overview of the whole thing. Then it dives into the process group and knowledge areas.
Henrique Moura, a project management trainer with international experiences, is an expert volunteer for the Fifth Edition or Sixth Edition. He knows the material well and presents it clearly.
The book is beautiful. The layout is easy to use, and the diagrams are clear and helpful. There are memorization and review exercises. This is because memorizing information, even dull, is part what will get you through the exam. I liked that each chapter ended with relevant exam questions and answers, as well as practical examples.
It covers more than just the exam content. It also covers the application process. This will guide you through the entire process, from the moment you decide to take the exam to the moment you walk out of the exam hall.
An appendix of acronyms is included. You may not realize how many are used in project management jargon until you dive into the text.
The process by process group table was also very helpful. It makes a big difference to see everything on one page.
The Earned Value concept is also explained in great detail. I know it will be useful for those who don’t use these techniques at work, but still need to know them for the exam.
Overall, this book is solid and recommended for anyone who is working towards their PMP(r), even if they are not yet following the new guidelines.
